Abstract

The hoist-supporting crab has two halves hingeing apart to allow removal from the travel rail. Each half has at the top a set of travel rollers, and at the bottom an eye for the hook by which the hoist is suspended. The halves are locked together by means of a boss (7) fixed to one half engaging in a vertical notch (8) in the other. The halves are hinged together by means of a pin (5) on one half. This pin fits in an elongated vertical slot (11) in the other, which allows the halves to move vertically in relation to each other so as to extract the boss (7) from the groove (8). This hinge pin (5) is offset from the crab centre line.
