Abstract

The cooling system for the lorry has one or more fans mounted in special housings at the rear of the cab roof. The fans are mounted with vertical axes and draw in air intot he housings, stacked behind the can. The air is blown over a spreader grille and then over the radiators. The radiators are angled so that the warm air is expelled to either side of the vehicle. The system greatly reduces the noise level of the vehicle, and the cooling effect can be applied not only to the engine but also the air conditioning for the can and the load. For added effect the fan speed can be reduced further by using larger fans, with their edges overlapping the cab.
