Abstract

The fibre positioning device may be used as a connector in fibre optic links. It comprises one or more flexible optical fibres (8) which act as a light guide, a guiding system which guides an end of this fibre into connection with another optical elements and three or more locking pins (2, 4, 6). A tightening system (11) maintains these pins parallel to and in lateral contact with each other. This forms a channel between the pins in which the end of the fibre is positioned. The tightening system maintains contact between the fibre and all the pins, but avoid deformation of the fibre.
