Abstract

The dental implant is fitted into the jawbone, having one part inserted in the cancellous tissue beneath the jawbone compact tissue and with at least one stump projecting from this part into the buccal cavity. The insertable part (2) is provided with lateral, razor like ribs (4) which lead into the cancellous tissue and possibly into the compact tissue at a point not affected by the recess drilled below it for insertion of the part. Pref. the ribs (4) are divided into groups with the ribs of each group superimposed at specific distances. The ribs extend at right angles or at a slope to the direction in which the part (2) is guided beneath the compact tissue. The securely implantable element is not loosened by chewing action and has a very long life.
