Abstract

The elevator type storage cupboard is designed for use in inaccessible corners. The unit has a motor drive. At the limit of upward travel the unit projects above the working top and access is gained. Power may be transmitted from the motor to the cupboard by either track and pinion or worm and endles screw mechanisms. Cupboard motion may be guided by means of sleeves which slide over round section rails. The motor and the rails may be fixed to a wall mounted chassis which locates to the rear of the cupboard. The chassis also supports the rack or the endless screw together with microswitches to limit cupboard travel. The top of the cupboard may be a hinged access flap.
