Abstract

The package (1) for foodstuff consists of an outer skin (2) which is cellophane or plastic film. A cardboard stiffening sleeve (4) is placed inside then skin (2) to reinforce the package (1). A rim (3) at the top end of the package is formed when it is closed after filling. The package lid(10), the reinforcing sleeve (4) and the package skin (2) are joined in the sealed rim. A tear strip (3) is included in the sealed rim between the outer skin and the stiffener sleeve (4). When the tear strip (3) is torn off, it separates from the stiffener sleeve whilst breaking the package skin, thus the package can be opened.
