Abstract

The connecting pipe assembly to an enamel or other lined reactor vessel has an external sleeve flanged at both ends, the upper flange having a recess for packing and the liner to seat in. The lower flange is bolted to a larger flange which is in turn bolted to one of the vessel flanges. A corrosion resistant synthetic layer is used to protect the inner surface of the sleeve, interposed between the sleeve and the synthetic liner also corrosion resistant. This liner has a collar, which seats in the recess of the upper flange to locate the liner, and the end inside the vessel has a dia. smaller than the rest of the liner. Assembly used as an inlet pipe to any enamel or similar lined reactor vessel. It has easily removed corrosion resistant liner which avoids high replacement costs and is not easily damaged.
