Abstract

An automatic surveillance device checks the stability of the component parts of a high-speed train. In particular it inspects the transverse stability of the bogies. Each bogie is fitted with a signal pickup (1) an electronic supply and treatment unit (2), an instability calculator and a visualisation device with a memory. In each driving cabin, and for the train section as a whole is a warning, control and test device (5). The pick-up (1) is an accelerometer mounted on the bogie. Its signal is selected only if its amplitude and frequency value is characteristic of an instability.
