Abstract
The solid material is contacted with a mixt. of gaseous ammonia under pressure, a non-volatile base and an aq. solution of ammonia obtained by recovery of ammonia, also with water at 0.3-3 bars at 70-95 degrees C for 10-45 min. Process is continuous using only moderately high pressure and reduced amts. of water without any need for ammonia recovery plants. Esp. useful for removing a aflatoxin from cattle cakes of ground-nut, cottonseed etc., which have been contaminated with Aspergillus flavus, or for removing sulphur cpds. from seed such as rape.
