Abstract

The electromagnetic actuator for a hydraulic servo-contactor consists of a magnetic case and at least one annular induction coil in the air-gap between the case and a concentric armature magnet, with the coil and armature axially movable w.r.t. each other. The movable component, coil or armature, is moved by magnetic force generated by a dc control in the coil, and by an opposite force generated by a repelling elements. The induction coil length is greater than the armature length, so that the magnetic force is independent of the movable part movement, and proportional to the control current. The movable part carries out, in addition, a cyclic movement in order to eliminate the device friction hysteresis.
