Abstract

The machines if for stripping the leaves from a plant, particularly a tobacco plant, having a fixed frame with a plate, in which there is an aperture appreciably larger than the section of the plants themselves. A pair of driving rollers are mounted at the same end of the frame and on opposite sides of the aperture. The leaves are stripped by one or more plates (6, 7)moving in a plane parallel to that of the aperture, the working portion of each plate being shaped so as to fit part of the way round the plant stem (P). The plane can be arranged to work in conjunction with part of the aperture.
