Abstract
Components for building solar energy capture panels involving liquids circulating through arrays of heat absorbant pipes. The flow paths through parallel pipes are limited by manifolds assembled from moulded plastics blocks having integral passages linking two or more outlets. Pref. blocks are polypropylene or rigid PVC mouldings with socket entrances which can incorporate 'O' rings seals. Panels may be mounted in glass reinforced polyester casings. Esp. suitable for heating water for e.g. swimming pools, either by direct convection or via a pump and filters etc. Also for providing a thermal boost to liquids or to air to be further heated by other means. The blocks are simple to assemble and offer mutual support and control of the spacing of adjacent pipes.
