Abstract
In the cooling tower, the air is brought directly into contact with the water to be cooled, which is distributed over the tower area. The tower includes a drip collector sump. A system of pipes is mounted above the heat-exchange circuit, having inlet and outlet for a heat-transfer medium. The pipe system (6) is mounted above the sump (5), and the medium is heating steam which condenses as it passes through the system. In addition to the steam inlet (8), the system has an outlet pipe (10) for the condensate. The system can have a number of parallel horizontal pipes spaced apart and connected to steam and condensate buspipes (6b, 6c).
