Abstract

The extruder is provided with a pivoting arm carrying the extrusion die. The pivoting arm sweeps a certain angular sector of the belt so as to deposit the extruded material in the form of a fillet as the belt passes into the cooling zone. The movement of the arm must co-operates with the travelling belt so that the fillet of extruded material is deposited in a regular sinusoidal form. The speed of the belt must be accelerated at the level of the curves and slowed down in the rectilinear parts of the fillet. The movements are co-ordinated in a control box. The plant is simple and has a high yield at a comparatively low cost. The automatic passage from the mixer to the cooling post is effected without causing any deformation of the deposited fillet from the extruder.
