Abstract

The rearing shed floor is covered by flat belts forming strips. On top of these are similar belts, having one end free and the other wound around a roller (3). The free end of each belt has a vertical barrier. The poultry are moved onto the upper belts by pulling the barriers towards the wall using cables; the upper belts extend over the lower and the poultry move onto them to escape the barriers. The upper belts are now wound onto the rollers; the poultry are moved along by the barriers on onto a transverse belt conveying them to the collection point.
