Abstract

The chimney consists of one or more inner flues. The outer sleeve is made up of sections which are flanged at the joints (3). The inner tubes also made up of sections which abut against each other and are joined by means of expansion joints. Each expansion joint consists of two concentric sleeves (17, 18) formed at the base by a ring (22). The ring is fixed to the bottom section by means of screws, and the top sections (9, 11). The gap between the top and bottom sections of the expansion joint is taken up when the chimney becomes hot.
