Abstract

The photographic composition machine has a projection lens for charactes from a mounting onto a composition surface. The same lens also allows projection of characters on a film in an additional set. The additional set is situated in the machine at a point clear of the character mounting. An auxiliary projection system forms on the composition surface in the position of the character mounting an intermediate image of the film characters. This itself is reproduced as an image on the composition surface by the projection lens.
