Abstract

A moulding device for producing labelled thermoplastic containers, cups or beakers, operates by feeding each label into a mould and forming the cup in the mould by punching it out from a continuous thermoplastics sheet. A mould unit comprising >=3 negative moulds revolves around a central aix operating successively in cooperation with >=3 stations. A label-introduction station comprises a transfer device which takes a label from a stack and places it in a mould. A moulding and punching station comprises a blow-moulding and/or vacuum-forming device for shaping the vessel in the mould from a portion of a continuously fed thermoplastic strip. A punching device separates the rim of the cup from the continuous sheet, the label being simultaneously bonded to the cup in this stage, a discharge station removes the finished vessel from the mould. Pref. also an additional fourth testing and sorting station is incorporated before the discharge station. Pref. also, the discharge station comprises a transfer grab which transfers the finished vessel directly to a filling and sealing machine.
