Abstract

There is a hydraulic pressure modulator (17), operated by an electromagnet (18) which is mounted in the hydraulic line (13). The magnet is powered by the car electrical circuit (19) and is controlled by the power transistor (20). The electonic logic network (21) receives a signal from the wheel mounted speed sensor (22) and calculates conditions of wheel locking. Under such conditions, it provides a voltage to the transistor base, which switches on the modulator. The effect is to lessen the braking force so that the wheel does not lock up. The logic circuit also provides a constant self check on the system and produces an alarm if a fault is detected.
