Abstract

The protective coating for containers is in the form of a roll of plastic material (2) with a reinforcing mesh (4) and a layer of adhesive (3) on the outside of the roll. The mesh is formed by longitudinal and transverse strands of strong plastic intersecting at right angles in a common plane. Because the adhesive is on the outside of the roll, a protective strip is fitted, and must be removed before use. The protective coating can then be wound directly from the roll to the container.
