Abstract
A view finder used in helicopters gives the direction and altitude of a moving object relative to the helicopter, thus enabling aiming of weapons. alignment is performed using ultra sonic techniques to dispense with problems of mechanical methods. The position of a viewfinder inside a helicopter is found using an ultrasonic transmitter on the viewfinder and which radiates to three receivers located on reference axes. The transmitter is powered from an oscillator driving an amplifier and is amplitude modulated by chopping the output of a divider circuit. Received signals are amplified and shaped and passed to counters to determine delay periods using clock timing pulses.
