Abstract

The unit is for use in fluid circuits and has a hollow conical body (1) widening in the direction of flow, and having inside a series of discs (2, 3, 4) spaced at set intervals along a sliding component (5) allowing them to move along the cone axis. Each disc in the open position leaves an annular flow passage (b, c) between it and the body. The interval between two successive discs is between five times the width of the annular passage left free by the upstream disc when fully open and fifty times the width of this same passage when set for maximum load loss at the normal flow rate.
