Abstract

The flexible extension has an insertion end for fitting in a body opening to allow drainage of organic fluids. Two tubes can slide along the extension, one extending beyond the end of it and forming a sliding extension of the other one, which is sealed to the extension at the distal end, while the two tubes can telescope together to assist insertion in the body. A flexible extensible protection envelope extends for the full length of the extension, being sealed to the two tubes so as to cover the tube telescoping zone completely and maintaining a sterile environment round the entire extension surface. The distal end has an orifice beyond the envelope for drainage of organic liquids. The extension slides in the lengthwise direction in relation to the envelope, which is retractable to allow this and insertion in the body.
