Abstract

Effervescent enzyme compsns., in granular or tablet form, comprise >=1 enzyme and an acid-base effervescent couple in which the basic component is either glycine-Na carbonate (I) or a mixt. of NaHCO3 with a buffer. Pref. the compsn. contains (per unit dose) 500-25000 units lipase; 300-15000 units cellulase; 1000-50000 units protease and 500-25000 units amylase. No use is stated. By using these particular basic components enzyme stability during prodn., storage and when made up into a soln., is improved. A pref. buffer is mono Ca phosphate and the acid component is citric or tartaric acid. An exemplified tablet contains 53.6 mg lipase; 42.9 mg cellulose; 42.05mg amylase plus protease; 1125.75 mg tartaric acid; 1882 mg (I), plus excipients etc. to make 3509.05mg.
