Abstract
Electrical stimulation of dye lasers is effected by (a) injecting charge carriers into a polymer film, (b) accelerating the charge carrier by a voltage developed by electrodes partly covering the polymer film, and (c) inelastically scattering the charge carrier by the molecules of one or more dyers, introduced into the film as interfering sites. Efficient stimulation at low cost by a direct electrical method. Stimulation can be effected over a wide spectral range at room temp. Suitable for miniaturisation in integrated information transfer systems.
