Abstract

The wing mirror housing comprises two plastic moulded halves (1, 2) clipped together over moulded grooves to fit about the mirror. The upper half has a groove (6) directed downwards to clip over a lip (4) on the lower half. This forms a watertight fitting, with the seam hidden by the fitted mirror. the inside of the housing is secured by moulded, tubular fittings (10, 11) which slide over each other. The mirror is gripped tightly and the whole assembly is simpler than an injection moulded housing in which the mirror gripping lips have to be prised back, and possibly damaged, to fit the mirror.
