Abstract

A combustion chamber reactor for carbon black prodn. by dissociating a hydrocarbon originating from a cracker, in the presence of the prods. of the combustion of another hydrocarbon with air, has >=2 chambers. The gases pass through these chambers in series, with an axes of the paths they follow through the chambers subtending an angle to each other, and in a side wall of one chamber there is an inlet through which the hydrocarbon from the cracker is injected along the axis of the path of the gases through the downstream chamber. System ensures that the hydrocarbon from the cracker which is to be dissociated into carbon and hydrogen, comes into contact soley with the completely burned gases.
