Abstract
A pusher furnace incorporates a loading and unloading cassette which consists of two flat discs mounted on a hub so that they are parallel to one another and can be rotated together. A number of holes are cut out of the disc at uniform distances around their edges and a housing is located in each pair of holes. The housings are loaded with open containers which contain workpieces, and are coupled to the main drive mechanism in such a way that when the cassette discs rotate through any given angle, each housing rotates through the same angle in the opposite direction.
