Abstract

The delayed action device is for inflation of rubber dinghies and is armed by pushing the plunger (1) in the direction (B). The rack (3) engages the pinion (8) and drives the gear train (9) which is then locked by passing a pin through the hole (5) in the gear (4). To actuate the device the pin is removed from the hole (5) so that the spring (7) pushes the rack (3) in the direction (A) but the speed is restricted by the inertia of the gear train (9) and counterweight (10). The device can be re-armed as frequently as required.
