Abstract

The press is used for grapes, berries etc., and consists of two or more cylinders (1, 2), the axes of which are at an angle to one another. Pistons which are driven by cranks, slide in the cylinders. Each cylinder has a slot, the length of which is approx. equal to the stroke of the piston. The liquid which has been pressed out of the fruit flows through the slot into a trough. The first cylinder is connected with a funnel which is fed by gravity and is provided with an arrangement which forces the fruit into the cylinder. The end wall of the first cylinder consists of the side wall of the second cylinder. This arrangement is repeated until the last but one cylinder.
