Abstract

The automatic stock feeder consists of a flat surface on which the food is offered, and on which slides a conveyor consisting of two cables joined by slots. The slat at each end of the two cables is connected to a single cable which is wound on to drum at one end. The conveyor runs over an idler drum at the other end. When the conveyor is being loaded it operates an automatic stop when it is full. After feeding, the rejected feed can be swept away by reversing the conveyor. Cereal feeds can be distributed from a hopper standing above the conveyor and moved by it.
