Abstract

The bag has a number of sealed joints and a bottom pleat, and consists of partially welded pieces of flexible material forming internally joined walls at whose lower ends cover panels are welded externally. The walls (7) are connected to the cover panels (3a, 3b) via partial surface adhesion zones which reduce in width towards the centre of the bag as seen in side elevation. The arrangement is such that the lower cross-section of the bag has an M-shaped bottom pleat formed by the cover panels and the walls of the bag. The cover panels may extend over the full width of the bag.
