Abstract
A device for inspecting transparent or translucent objects such as bottles has an inspection console (10) located such that bottles on a continuous belt pass between two cabinets (11, 12) through a set of three photosensitive detectors (10a). One cabinet (12) houses light sources (13) which emit light through a window (12a) onto mirrors (35) which deflect the light onto the bottles. Electronic printed circuits (22) process detector signals to accepts or reject the bottles. Rejects are ejected from the belt by a piston. A control panel (24) on one cabinet (11) permits setting of the sweep limits of the inspection by the photodetectors to detect acceptable dimensions. FAult detection signals are delayed until the faulty bottles move from the console, and then applied to the rejection device.
