Abstract

A locking system for a tilting window has a U section channel screwed to the window frame, with an inner rib extending inwards from each side near the bottom, leaving two grooves below. This channel acts as a housing for a latch at one end, with a slide member locating between these grooves, with lugs extending fro the slide member and holding a hinge pin between them for an arm forming part of the latch. A locating pin moves travelling in a slot in another member which locats inside the channel and swings about a pivot pin attached to a fixed bracket. A locking handle at the top also locates inside this channel.
