Abstract

The ink dot printer with an ink reservoir with a perforated base and actuated by a vibrator, has an open topped reservoir made of light material, the upper part fitting into a corresponding recess of a magnetic core (12) made up of E-shaped laminations, with a coil (17) around the top of the reservoir forming an electro-magnetic vibrator. This reservoir is H-shaped in cross section, with perforated plate across the bottom. In another design, the bottom part is divided up into a set of side by side compartments, so that different coloured inks can be used in the same container. A corrugated resilient diaphragm (13) secures the sides to the core.
