Abstract
The prodn. of a granulated zeolite catalyst comprises: (a) granulating the original zeolite (I); (b) drying the granules at 100-150 degrees C (c) calcining at 380-550 degrees C; (d) treating with aq. gp. II metal salt soln. (II) and/or aq. ammonium salt soln. (III) at 70-90 degrees C; (e) drying at 120-150 degrees C; (f) calcining at 380-550 degrees C; (g) treating with aq. gp. III metal salt soln. (IV) as first component and/or aq. gp. IV transition metal salt soln. (V) as second component and, if (III) is used in stage (d), also with (II), or if (II) is used in stage (d), also with (III); (h) drying at 120-150 degrees C; and (i) calcining at 380-550 degrees C. In the conversion of hydrocarbons, esp. alkylation of aromatic and satd. hydrocarbons with olefins and the alkyl exchange of alkyl-aromatic hydrocarbons, e.g. in the mfr. of ethylbenzene, cumene, butylbenzene and high antiknock alkylbenzines.
