Abstract

Screen for the mfr. and storage of cheeses is made from monofilaments; the warp consists of groups of at least six filaments, each group being arranged at a distance of at least 18 mm from each other. The sheet is welded at the edges by means of a supplementary strip. The screen remains absolutely rigid and is suitable for use with concave or convex supports; it shows no tendency to collapse. Drainage of whey is very rapid and when stored on the screen, a cheese retains its freshness for a longer period than with conventional screens.
