Abstract
The counting device is able to indicate the time of arrival of successive signals and it can also give the number of signal pulses arriving from an exterior source in a given time. The device includes a clock which produces a series of timing pulses at regular intervals and there is a reception circuit for picking up the external signals. There is a counter and there is a switching device which can connect the counter either with the clock or with the external signal. There are devices for starting and stopping the counting in response to external signals of clock signals.
