The alloy which is suitable for soldering or brazing as well as metallising grinding materials is composed of Cu and/or Ag, and/or Sn, and/or Al, and/or Cd, and/or Zn, and/or Ti, and/or Cr, and/or Zr, and/or Mn, and/or Mo, and/or W, and/or Fe, and/or Co, and/or Ni and contains in addition 0.001-80 wt.% of V and/or Nb, and/or Ta, and/or B. Pref. the alloy contains 10-89 wt.% Cu and/or Ag, and/or Sn, and/or Al, and/or Cd, and/or Zn, 0.001-11 wt.% Fe and/or Co, and/or Ni, 0.001-80 wt.% Ti and/or Cr, and/or Zr, and/or Mn and/or Mo, and/or W, and/or B, and contains in addn. 89-0.001% Au and/or Ga and/or In and/or Ge and 0.001-10% Os and/of Rh and/or Pd and/or Ir, and/or Pt.
