Abstract

An ignition distributor for internal combustion engine of road vehicles has a case in which rotates a spindle driven by the engine. The case has a cap with high voltage terminals. An inductive pickoff (15) and a toothed wheel (24) are provided to operate an electronic circuit connected to the primary winding of the ignition coil. A distributor arm rotated by the distributor spindle ensures that the high voltage supplied by the secondary winding of the coil is taken to the approrpate sparking plug of the engine. Magnetic screens are fitted between the pickoff (15) and the distributor arm (12) and also between the automatic advance mechanism (7).
