Abstract

A device for adjusting the alignment of vehicle headlamps with vehicle loading has a strain gauge on part of the vehicle which moves according to the load carried, so that the gauge follows these movements. A motor adjusts the headlamp alignment in accordance with information from the strain gauge. The control consists of a potentiometer joined to the motor and fed with electricity. The strain gauge is placed in one branch of bridge and the potentiometer in the other two branches. There is also a differential amplifier, with its output connected to the motor. Additional strain gauges may be incorporated.
