Abstract

The double-charge pyrotechnic device is particularly for igniting solid blocks of propergol, having a priming charge with igniter and a separate main charge joined to the first by a flame passage. A sequential safety device (14) is inserted between the priming charge (16) and the main one (17) in the flame passage, being actuated from the outside so as to shut off the flame passage or open it up. The safety device can comprise a cap destructible by gas temperature and pressure between the priming and main charges and shutting off the passage, and a control rod slid or rotated from outside so as to bear against the downstream side of the cap in the safe position and also shut the passage off.
