Abstract
The upper video spectrum correction circuit, for SECAM and PAL magnetic recording systems, allows dropped-out lines to be replaced with other information and can readily be connected to monochrome or NTSC systems. Correction takes place in two stages. For monochrome or NTSC, the missing part of the video signal is replaced by a preceding line or lines. For SECAM signals, the upper part of the video signal spectrum is replaced for the complete duration of any line. For monochrome, correction takes place by replacing the drop-out line with a preceding line containing the same chromatic information. For PAL systems a variation of the second stage is used.
