Abstract

A cam (25) fixed to the frame interacts with pins (20) which are movable radially relative to a drum (15) fixed to a shaft (11) onto which the roller is mounted. The cam has a radially inward formed section (32). The printing head moves along the drum (15) over the pins in order to facilitate reading the last symbol which has been printed. The cams have an axially extending border (24) and a cutout which interacts with this border. As the roller rotates together with its accompanying drum, the pins are guided in such a way in boreholes through the border that their radial positions are varied relative to the drum.
