Abstract

The heating circuit consists of two meters and two circuit breakers connected between the a.c. supply and the lines feeding the heating element (Q). One meter is connected over the low-level circuit breaker, and the other the high-level circuit breaker to the heating element circuit. Two power diodes (DA, DB) separate the circuit breakers from the common line (L) which is connected through to the heating element by a triac switch (TR). The triac is controlled by the thermostat (Th). A diode (D1) is connected between triac and the two power diodes and can be shunted out by a manual switch.
