Abstract

Hot-melt adhesive resin, for making joints or covers for closing glass vessels, the sticking of the covers around the rims of the vessels being achieved in 2 sec., has a viscosity of =500 P at 150 degrees C and comprises a colophony ester (I) in which is dissolved an ionomeric resin (II), this soln. being combined with a polyamide resin (III) and an antioxidant (IV). Pref. the resin comprises (wt. %) 10-50% (I); 5-30% (II) and (III) to make 100. The addn. of (III) lowers the viscosity of the compsn and compatibility with (II) is assured by first dissolving it in (I).
