Abstract

The retaining spring clip is used with a shaft with an annular groove. The clip has a U-shaped cross-section, one of the branches (2) having a central hole with two sections of different radius, the smaller radius section fitting into the annular groove. The other branch (3) has an opening which fits round the head of the shaft adjacent to the groove, contributing to the centring of the clip. The first branch (2) has inclined pieces (5) attached round its periphery to press against the component being retained, and a piece by which the clip can be manipulated. The upper branch has a recess (3a) to give access to the manipulation piece.
