Abstract

Each chain link consists of several parallel plates which are connected to the next link by a pin. The plates of the next link lie between those of the previous one. The last link of the chain is connected by a fork shaped connector to a fixing bolt for the chain. The connector is made from a plate which is bent into a U shape and is supported on a long pin which is passed through the end link of the chain. The bolt with which the bracket is connected to the fixing bolt of the chain lies at 90 deg. to the last pin in the chain. This allows the fixing bolt to be hinged in two planes at right angles to one another.
