Abstract

The housing is particularly for a dustbin, and has two doors (2, 3) on opposite sides, each door having portions (5, 6, 7, 8) engaging with the dustbin (10) so as to bring it clear of the housing (1). These portions can be in the form of feet extending horizontally from each door when shut and fitting between those of the other door, both doors hinging on horizontal axes at their bases. A baseplate with calibrated springs can be mounted on each of the feet, yielding as the weight of dustbin and contents increases. There can be a datum mark on the dustbin, appearing in a window in one of the doors when the total weight reaches a predetermined value.
