Abstract

The frame is in two parts, each being a ring, formed in circular section tubular material. One ring may lie inside the other, leaving a clearance. Both rings are connected together by a pivot through each side, across the diameter (aa') to give two equally balanced frame halves when opened out or across a common line which may be displaced either side of the diameter. Canvas or similar material is used across the upper part of the frame, the completed chair being self stabilising. The rocking motion is elliptical, depending on the degrees of opening, which is preferably 120 deg.
